Hyogo Prefecture is renowned for numerous long-established hot springs, including Arima Onsen, which is counted among the three famous springs of Japan, and Kinosaki Onsen, which frequently appears in literary works. Himeji Castle is Japan’s first ever UNESCO World Heritage Site, recognized globally as one of the world’s finest castles. Akashi Kaikyo Bridge is one of the longest suspension bridges in the world, connecting Honshu and Awaji Islands across the Akashi Strait. The bridge offers a magical view when lit up at night. Last but not least, Hyogo Prefecture is Japan’s top producer of Yamada Nishiki, a popular variety of sake rice.
