Okayama prefecture is located between Osaka and Hiroshima,75 minutes by air and 190 minutes by bullet train from Tokyo, facing the Seto Inland Sea on the south and the Chugoku mountains on the north.
Okayama is known as "Sunny Land'' with its sunny climate and few days of rain, which makes it one of the fruitbaskets of Japan. White peaches and muscat and Pione grapes are some of the crops we are most proud of. It is also famous for its marine products from the Seto Inland Sea.
It's also well known as a prefecture with few natural disasters, which ranks it among the top three towns to enjoy a wonderful rural life.
As for sightseeing, it boasts Korakuen, one of the Three Great Gardens of Japan and also Kurashiki Bikan historical quarter, with the 17th-century granaries, their white walls and black tiles creating a scene of austere beauty.
